Retrofitting contemporary comfort accessories is okay (question of the week)
Cars of the past were usually modestly equipped. Some of today's practical standard accessories, such as seat heating, DAB/CD/USB radio, daytime running lights, power steering, dimming rear-view mirrors, multi-adjustable seats, etc. were not available at all or only at high extra cost back then. However, some of these accessories make driving a classic car more pleasant and safer today.
In a " question of the week " , we wanted to know from our readers whether it is okay to retrofit comfort accessories to classic cars. The answers show a clear preference.
63.3 percent are of the opinion that accessories that were already available for the model in question at the time can be retrofitted today without compromising originality
17.3 percent are even more liberal and believe that you should be able to retrofit anything that is not visible
9.3 percent leave this decision to the owner according to the motto "what you like is okay"
A further 9.3 percent, however, insist on the original condition in order to preserve the historical substance and therefore reject retrofitting
And, for the sake of completeness, there were also 0.8% of the 237 respondents who did not know what to do with any of the answers given.

Of course, we have already published the next question of the week , this time we want to know from classic car and youngtimer drivers whether they would like to offset/neutralize their CO2 emissions if this were possible in a simple way and at a reasonable cost.
