No, this would no longer be possible today. ABS can no longer produce such clouds of smoke. But 50 years ago, the anti-lock braking system was not yet available in an Opel, not even in a BMW or Mercedes-Benz. Only Jensen installed a forerunner of ABS in the FF at the time, but this luxury coupé would hardly have been used to test cheap tires and that was precisely the subject of the 5/1969 issue of Auto-Motor-und-Sport, on the cover of which the above picture was printed.
