Why Christmas is so important
12/24/2019
I can still remember when I was maybe six or seven years old and received a great model car as a Christmas present. It was an Opel Admiral police car. The special thing about it was that the car, which was around 25 cm long, had a remote control and you could drive it forwards and backwards and steer it with the small steering wheel just like in a real car. I loved this toy, but unfortunately the cable remote control soon failed (due to excessive use) and so the Opel was later repainted and rebuilt. Part of my fascination with cars is certainly due to this model car (the picture shows a similar or perhaps even the same model).
Will there be as many cars under the Christmas trees tonight as there were 50 years ago? We would hope so, because after all, it is particularly important for us friends of old cars that new generations share our interest.
It's probably too late for this year, but if you're still looking for a last-minute gift for your son, daughter, grandchild or godchild, then a small car might be worth considering ...
