Alvis Graber Coupé as a new car
12/25/2019
Unbelievable, but true: in the UK, more precisely in Kenilworth near Coventry, "The Alvis Car Company" builds models from the past as new cars. It is said that the Japanese market in particular is a big buyer of continuation cars.
The Alvis TC 108G Graber Coupé from 1957 that we are portraying can still be ordered from the factory today in a later, similar form, albeit with a few technical modifications to meet today's emissions regulations and safety requirements. Propulsion is still provided by the 2993 cc engine with six cylinders in series, which has of course been modernized and now has fuel injection instead of carburetors to ensure that the engine can quench its thirst.
In addition to the Graber Coupé and Cabriolet, Alvis offers the open version as the "Drop Head Coupé" from the pen of coachbuilder Park Ward, and the older designs by Vanden Plas, Bertelli and Lancefield were also reissued. Alvis calls these models the "Continuation Series", and anyone with the necessary funds can have their dream car built in this fine manufactory.
