For men who read the newspaper ...
You will no doubt remember the famous series of articles by motoring journalist legend Fritz B. Busch entitled "For men who smoke a pipe". Well, today, almost 60 years later, pipe smokers have probably become a very small minority and perhaps no longer the right benchmark for classic sports cars with style.
But perhaps it is the newspaper reader, the traditionalist who still likes to read today's (or yesterday's) information on paper and does not shy away from oversized formats. They can be enthusiastic about the feel of the classic newspaper (or magazine) and appreciate the fact that an editor (or today's paper maker) compiles and serves up news and background information that they might not have looked for themselves, but still find worth reading (serendipity).
It is almost one hundred percent likely that an owner of an Alvis Coupé still reads the newspaper; somehow a newspaper simply fits on the passenger seat or the back seat of the TC108 G (and in the owner's hand). This newspaper is likely to be conservative or at least liberal in its thinking, certainly neither a revolver nor revolutionary.
Incidentally, most Alvis drivers are also likely to be male, so the (non-gender-neutral) title (above) is also justified. Of course, we are happy to be proven wrong.
In any case, if there are any newspaper readers who are still missing an Alvis with a Graber body, then this apparently dying species is recommended to attend the auction in Gstaad tomorrow Sunday (December 29, 2019, from 16:00) ...
P.S. Of course, you can read the newspaper and still be a modern person who also knows how to use the internet ...
