Replicas are not classic cars
07/14/2014
The verdict is pretty clear: only 14% of Zwischengas readers think that replicas of the Bugatti 35, Alfa 8C Monza or BMW 328 etc. should also be eligible for registration as classic cars.
Although well-made "recreations" correspond practically 100% to the original specifications and can be used in historic racing, for example, they are not classic cars in the strict sense, but new or used cars.
In response to the question of the week as to whether faithfully reproduced vehicles(recreations , continuations, replicas) should be registered as classic cars, 58% responded with a complete rejection, while 27% would at least accept a simplified registration under the rules of the original.
Now, of course, we are curious to see how our readers answer the new question of the week , which is about the right paintwork - original color, original shade or free choice.
