How Santa Claus rediscovered old values
12/24/2021
Santa Claus is also getting older and at the same time he has to move with the times. So he decided to stop handing out presents with the old sleigh and reindeer in front of it and reorganize his business in the "metaverse". So he got himself some fancy VR glasses (VR for virtual reality) and began to familiarize himself with the new medium. And after some practice, he managed to deliver hundreds of gifts in no time at all. And all this without leaving his cozy home heated by a wood stove. His "customers" didn't seem to mind the new form of distribution, at least not those in the virtual world, which Santa thought was the future after all. Without giving it much thought, he carried out his work and almost all of the planned presents were soon distributed.
After the work was done, Santa Claus, who had become a little tired in the meantime, sat down in his comfortable armchair in front of the fireplace and started to ponder a little. Somehow he was missing something. He thought back wistfully to the smell of reindeer sweat, to the cold air wafting around his nose, to the funny snowflakes in the air when he flew out in his sleigh. It just wasn't the same as it used to be. Although the new world was quieter, more comfortable and probably also more environmentally friendly, the longer Santa thought about it, the more he missed the good old days with his old rickety sleigh and the neither silent nor clean horses, or reindeer, in front of it.
And so he took out his old tools, put the bridle on the reindeer and delivered the last presents just as he had done in the old days. And he was much happier, even though it was cold and his nose was freezing. Everything was (almost) better in the old days, he said to himself, and decided to continue his trips (and flights) with the now old-fashioned sledge in the future ...
We wish all Zwischengas readers a Merry Christmas!
