Forever linked to the Split Window Corvette...
The coupés of the first year of the Corvette C2 had a split rear window, which made them something special. However, this alone cannot explain why one of the first owners at the time has remained loyal to the car to this day. Originally, the rather powerful Corvette - after all, the L76 327 V8 with 340 hp combined with the four-speed manual gearbox provided propulsion - was used as family transportation. But when the owner had to join the army, he sold the sports car.
Years later, however, he found his Corvette in a magazine and bought it back in 1983, had it extensively restored and has kept it to this day. Until the 1990s, he enjoyed showing it at Corvette events, where the coupé was always good for trophies. After all, the car was awarded Bloomington Gold on June 28, 1987.
But now the time has obviously come to part with the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette 327/340 for a second time and so it is now going under the hammer at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction. We hope that it will find a new enthusiast who will remain loyal to it for the next 40 years...
