Forgotten movie cars: Mini Moke for 007
The Mini Moke was often used for filming movies and television series. But few people remember that Roger Moore as James Bond drove a Mini Moke in the 007 film "Live and Let Die", albeit only for a short time. And nota bene in a movie in which Bond toys (unfortunately) didn't play too big a role.
The Mini Mokewas based on the Austin/Morris Mini and was the beach car version of the BMC, so to speak. However, the Moke was developed as an off-road vehicle for army use. However, the military was not convinced by the concept.
Instead, the Mini Moke made a career as a civilian version, including in the movie "Live and Let Die". The quirky mini beach car also made fringe appearances in the Bond films "You Only Live Twice" and "The Spy Who Loved Me".
