The Döschwo from the Muckibude - Citroën Dyane 6 in the (historical) test
Summary
With 32 hp, the most powerful Dyane offered twice as much power as the weakest 2 CV. In combination with the practical station wagon body, the middle of the small Citroëns was almost a contemporary car in 1970. However, due to its more serious appearance, some people found it much harder to forgive the Dyane for one or two shortcomings that would have been forgiven by the likeable Döschwo. This historical test report mentions them, but also lists the advantages of the Dyane.

Citroën has used its left hand to clean up the range of small cars, but its right hand has created confusion again. The Luxe, Confort and Commerciale equipment variants have been dropped from the Dyane 4 and Dyane 6; both Dyane models have the former Confort equipment as standard equipment. However, the 2 CV with the 23 hp engine of the Dyane 4 was added to the range; the 2 CV/23 hp and Dyane 4 compete with practically the same driving performance. The same situation with the Dyane 6, which last had 28 hp. It got the 32 hp engine like the Ami 8, also with practically the same performance. The complete model range looked like this: 2 CV/16 hp for 3990 DM, 2 CV/23 hp for 4130 DM, Dyane 4 with 23 hp for 4450 DM, Dyane 6 with 32 hp for 5030 DM, Ami 8 with 32 hp for 5480 DM, Ami 8 Club with special equipment for 5730 DM and Ami 8 Break as a station wagon with rear door and folding rear seat for 5680 DM. If you were not looking for extreme economy, you should opt for the more powerful engines, i.e. 2 CV with 23 hp and Dyane 6. The Dyane 4 had neither the appeal of the romantic, ugly 2 CV body nor the advantages of the more powerful Dyane 6 engine.
