Major car anniversaries in the new year

In 2019, the Citroënand Bentley brands will celebrate their 100th birthdays.
There will also be a whole series of car models celebrating their 50th anniversary, even if the range of new cars in 1969 was certainly much clearer than in later decades.
Among other things, 1969 was the year of the VW-Porsche 914, the people's Porsche with a mid-engine (picture above). At Peugeot , meanwhile, the 504 series was complemented by the Coupé and Cabriolet.
Also new to the range 50 years ago were the Autobianchi A112 and the Fiat 128, two compact Italians with good prospects.
The French brought derivatives of tried and tested cars, such as the Peugeot 304 or the Citroën Ami 8, but also the completely new Renault 12.
Opel presented a completely renewed KAD series with the Kapitän, Admiral and Diplomat B models. From Italy came the more compact counterpart, the Fiat 130.
Of course, the sports car world also had a newcomer. Peter Monteverdibrought the 375 L, Maseratithe Indy and Porsche the super-racing prototype 917.
