Forgotten anniversary? Jaguar will be almost 100 years old in September 2022

While everyone is talking about 50 years of Audi 80 or 120 years of Cadillac, Jaguar 's milestone birthday is not even on everyone's radar. However, this is also due to the fact that it was not "Jaguar" that was founded on September 4, 1922, but the "Swallow Sidecar Company".
It existed in this form until 1926, when its activities were expanded and this was announced in the company name "Swallow Sidecar and Coachbuilding Company".
From 1927, the company was then called the "Swallow Coachbuilding Company" and finally operated for a few more years as the "Swallow Coachbuilding Company Limited".
Finally, in 1933, the direct predecessor "S.S. Cars Limited" was formed, renamed "Jaguar Cars Limited" for understandable reasons. This was followed by the longest constant period in the brand name, until the "Jaguar Land Rover" construct was created in 2012 through a merger/takeover.
Jaguar was thus created in stages from the company that was founded in 1922 and can therefore also celebrate its birthday this year. It's always good to have a reason to celebrate. We toast with a glass of bubbly as a preventative measure. Clink, clink!
