You think you know the Fiat 127?
It was March 1971 when the new Fiat 127 was shown for the first time. It was unveiled in installments, so to speak. The small front-wheel drive car was built over five million times and the last examples left the factory in the 1990s, depending on how far you look. When you hear Fiat 127, you think of a compact two-door, later three-door hatchback.
But it was only a few months before the Turin Motor Show that the most diverse variants and versions of the Fiat 127 were already on show.
Whether it was an elegant coupé from Coriasco (pictured above), a beach car like the Savio Albarella or estate variants and much more, there was something for everyone.
And the creativity of the Italian sheet metal artists did not stop there, as variants such as the Bertone Village followed in 1974, ...
... the Meta by Francesco Boniolo ...
... or the Fiat Frua Dinghy by Frua in 1977.
Of course, Moretti and Lombardi also had something to contribute and ...
