Weeds never die - Morgan Super 3
02/26/2022
H.F.S. Morgan presented the first three-wheeler over 110 years ago. Until 1953, the small British company built vehicles with three wheels, but from 1935, four-wheeled Morgans were also available.
The Three Wheeler experienced its rebirth in 2012, when it became possible to buy brand-new Morgan three-wheelers with powerful V2 engines again. The modern Three Wheeler was even followed by an electric version, but this only had a short life.
And now, in 2022, Morgan has ignited the next stage, the Three Wheeler, now called the "Super 3", is back again! And it no longer just has three wheels, but also three cylinders, which are supplied by Ford and transplanted into an aluminum monocoque. The 1.5 liter engine produces 87 kW and certainly doesn't have too much work to do with the 635 kg tricycle, although 7 seconds for the sprint from 0 to 62 miles per hour no longer seems as rapid as it once did. But this is probably due to the lack of traction of the single rear wheel.
Shifting is still done by hand, after all, the Morgan Super 3 wants to be an "instant classic".
The British company quotes a list price of £ 34,995.83 (before tax and delivery costs). That would be the equivalent of around EUR 41,700 or CHF 43,500, but the pleasure is unlikely to be quite so cheap after all, as there are many extra features that make the compact sports car even more attractive for the indestructible.
The Super 3 certainly has the makings of a classic pearl.
And because a three-wheeler is a product that appeals to the emotions, the Brits have also made a suitable video that we don't want to withhold from our readers.
We dedicated an extensive report to its predecessor some time ago. And of course we also have a driving report on the original Three-Wheeler .
