The Ford GT40 in blue and white
02/12/2022
Original Ford GT40s enjoy a large fan community, as not too many cars were built back then. These coupés, which became famous around the world not least thanks to four Le Mans victories, have become correspondingly expensive. An extensive article was dedicated to the road-going Ford GT40 some time ago.
Interestingly, chassis 1018 has no racing history from back then, as the car was delivered to Carroll Shelby as a show car in November 1965 in the color "Maroon" (a red-brown shade) and with Borrani spoked wheels. Later owners, however, still wanted to win races and so the now blue-and-white painted racing car came to various successes at Goodwood and Le Mans on historic occasions. It goes without saying that it no longer raced with spoked wheels. In other respects, too, not everything has remained quite the same.
However, the photos by Stuart Adams, which are shown together in a collection of images , show that it still looks stunning today.
