Happy faces on and off the race track

No matter how enthusiastic the spectators were - at this year's Goodwood Members' Meeting , no one had as much fun as the two WSM Sprint cars, which were smiling happily in the "Weslake Cup". The little speedsters are so incredibly likeable that you immediately want to have one yourself. Unfortunately, the Englishmen Douglas Wilson-Spratt and Jim McManus only built nine of the good-humored knobbly coupés based on the Austin-Healey Sprite in 1962. Seven of them had an aluminum body, two had a GRP shell. A tenth "Wuzzum" was only completed in 2009, also with a plastic body. This brings the number of survivors to six.
As much fun as it is on the racetrack, it is better not to venture onto the highway in a WSM. Not only because the Sprite technology has been adopted unchanged, but also because the shrunken Ferrari would run the risk of being engulfed by the aggressive radiator grille of a modern compact SUV. That's what you get with its friendliness.
