Natural paradise race track

Where the two Swiss Toulo de Graffenried (Maserati, March 22, 1953) and exactly 10 years later Jo Siffert (Lotus, April 25, 1963) crossed the finish line as big winners in non-championship Formula 1 races, donkeys, horses and cows graze the green of the sparse run-off areas today. Great egrets and plenty of lizards also feel at home on the dilapidated racetrack. A small black dog admired and sniffed at the photographer, an unfamiliar creature.
The then non-permanent street circuit of Syracuse in Sicily, where F1 cars raced a total of 13 times between 1951 and 1967, was converted into a permanent race track in the 1970s. Unfortunately, however, it never achieved F1 honors and, due to a lack of money, it has been quietly and peacefully undergoing natural renaturation for decades.
