No, you shouldn't just copy this the next time you see a Ferrari 275 GTS or a Jaguar E-Type, for example. Few car bodies would survive such treatment without damage. In the 1950s, however, this photo of a Glasspar( there is of course also an article about the American sports car ) was intended to prove that plastic bodies were more stable.
But it wasn't just the Americans who were into plastic (in the truest sense of the word), but also the German racing driver and small car designer Egon Brütsch. Whether his photo was influenced by the American Glasspar is not known. But Brütsch arranged a few more people on the sturdy plastic body, which was, however, without wheels and axles. The suspensions would probably have collapsed under the weight ...
