There is nothing like careful research on original data ...
Of course you can find a lot on wikipedia or youtube these days. But often, unfortunately, the details are not correct. We noticed this again when we were researching the Panther 400 D. Thank goodness we have a huge archive at our disposal and so we found an original brochure, original photos and newspaper advertisements from back then. With these finds, we were able to unravel the little-known history of the little Panther 400 D to some extent, especially as the extensive and completely searchable magazine archive is of course a valuable help.
In the meantime, we were even able to find more photos (including the picture from the 1954 Turin Motor Show, which shows the Colli-bodied car), which we have of course added to the article, in keeping with the motto: An Zwischengas report is never completely finished, there is always room for improvement.
Our investigations clearly showed that the Panther 400 D was available with two bodies, one from Colli and one from Zagato. The Colli version was on display in Turin, while the Zagato version was shown in Paris.
