There may be other opulently equipped vehicles. But hardly any other is so uncompromisingly designed for comfort. Not to mention the exclusivity of a Mitsubishi Debonair: we are only aware of this one example registered in Germany, in which we were chauffeured through Berlin by the owner on a sunny fall day.

Berlin, Olympic Stadium. The monthly classic car meeting. White notchback at three o'clock. Probably a US midsize limo. In the back of my mind, the model recognition starts - and comes to nothing. "No matches". A closer look: Exterior mirrors far forward on the fenders. Right-hand drive. Japan, then. Exactly: the sun emblem flag on the front of the mudguard. Sure, a... hmmm...??? Get closer. The three-diamond logo on the hood. Mitsubishi. Even closer: Debonair. There was something! Memories of the car catalogs of the late 1980s come to mind, the excessive reading of which had a significant impact on the author's A-level average.
