The prodigal "son"

When you digitize and publish hundreds of magazines and thousands of pages, the likelihood of an issue being lost (or never having been physically available) is not at all small. So it happened to us that issue 25/1977 of the magazine "auto motor und sport" never made it into our digital magazine archive and went missing unnoticed, so to speak. However, attentive archive users finally informed us that this very special issue was missing. It took a little while, but now the complete 217-page magazine (yes, that's how thick fortnightly car magazines were back then) has been integrated into the archive.
And it has a lot to offer, such as the test report on the BMW 320i and 323i with six-cylinder engines. Or the first major test of the DM 55,000 Porsche 928.
The magazine also wrote about the Americans' new love of old Beetles and the difficulties a 2.1-meter man had in finding the right car for him (a Simca 1100).
The never-built VW 1500 convertible and a Rolls-Royce 12-cylinder car (Phantom III) were also published. A driving report was devoted to the Oldsmobile 98 Diesel. And much more.
A glance through the magazine turns out to be a real journey through time. We hope you enjoy leafing through and exploring !
And while we're at it, there's another complete AMS issue missing from the archive, namely issue 7/1955, which we haven't been able to find on paper yet. As soon as it is available, we will of course digitize it. Perhaps a reader can provide the number. We would be delighted!
