Unusual things at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
Every year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed attracts tens of thousands of racing fans and sports car enthusiasts. This year, however, something happened that had never happened before. The Duke of Richmond had to decide to cancel the Saturday. This was due to difficult weather conditions. Wind speeds of over 80 km/h were forecast and there were serious concerns as to whether the temporary infrastructure would be able to cope with these gusts. Because the health of the fans was not to be risked under any circumstances, Saturday was canceled for the first time in the 30-year history of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The practice and preparation runs on Friday had already had to take place under nasty weather conditions, but at least it was still possible to drive.
This meant that our photographer on site, Stuart Adams, had a day off work, which was not to his liking, but we can now publish some beautiful pictures that were taken on Friday.
And hopefully the cars and motorcycles will be able to drive today, Sunday, so that there will be even more breathtaking shots by Stuart Adams!
