Santa Claus, the reindeer and the Fiat 850
12/24/2013
Almost 50 years ago, Santa Claus thought that, as a modern gift bringer, he should move with the times and switch from a reindeer sleigh to a contemporary everyday vehicle.
And it turned out that the Fiat company was testing its new Fiat 850 beyond the Arctic Circle.
Our Santa liked the little car very much, not only because it was red, but also because it looked cute. The good traction that the Fiat promised thanks to its rear engine was also impressive. But then the first problems soon became apparent. The trunk had far too little space for all the large parcels that Santa had to deliver. And even when the interior was filled, some presents had to be left behind.
The bearded man could have lived with that, but it turned out that the Fiat 850 could not be made to fly, despite the lively revving engine. It stubbornly held its course and didn't lift an inch off the ground. What a pity, said Santa Claus, as he had felt quite at home in the cramped cockpit and especially liked the heating, which his reindeer sleigh naturally didn't have.
Remorseful, he returned to his reindeer and if we now hear the "ho ho ho" call somewhere in the sky, then we can be sure that Santa will continue to rely on his tried and tested four-legged friends in 2013, even if he has cried many a tear for the pretty Fiat since then ....
