Celebrated racing in Switzerland - historic events also have their place
12/14/2013
Last Thursday, Stefan Lüscher 's book (see picture above, between Edi Engelberger Junior and Senior)"Rennsport Schweiz 2013" was published for the thirtieth time, believe it or not.
Who would ever have thought that motorsport, which tends to be frowned upon in the country, would be able to provide material for 30-year books without its own venue. Racing in and around Helvetia is still upheld by a small but stubborn group of stalwarts and that deserves great admiration. As the successes of the Swiss at home and abroad have never diminished, but rather increased, the book has been able to maintain or even increase its number of pages without any problems.
There is also a chapter on historic motorsport. In 2013, for example, a Klausen race finally took place again after a long period of toing and froing. But the Lignières Historique event on Switzerland's only circuit also gives hope for more.
In Switzerland, the acceptance and popularity of historic racing has increased noticeably in recent years, as shown by the many approved events with high visitor numbers throughout the country.
Now we Swiss have it in our own hands to produce material for the next 30 books with great performances worldwide and fair sport, without any excesses or unnecessary scandals.
The book "Rennsport Schweiz 2013" is now available in bookshops, onlineand by calling Aktiv-Verlag Stans on 041 619 15 72. The price of the hardback edition is CHF 65, with 380 pages and over 730 photos. Neel Jani, Nico Müller, Simona de Silverstro and Urs Erbacher were among those present at the book launch.
