Of course we know Pietro Frua, but who was Jacques Fath?

As car enthusiasts, we are of course familiar with most of the cars that caused a sensation in the past. However, when the writers of that time rummaged too wildly in the "comparison box" and tried to make pictorial references, we sometimes lack context.
When Günther Gebhardt from the magazine 'hobby' wanted toexplain how perfectly the then new sports car from Dingolfing was dressed at the presentation of the Glas 1300 GT in 1964, he wrote the following meaningful sentence: "And Glas found him in Turin, the center of automotive haute couture, in master (Pietro) Frua, who throws his bodies over the chassis like Jacques Fath used to throw the fabric over his well-built mannequins."
Who was this Jacques Fath, we asked ourselves. And we quickly found the answer in Wikipedia: Jacques Fath (born September 6, 1912 in Maisons-Laffitte, France; died November 13, 1954 in Paris) was a French fashion designer; alongside Christian Dior and Pierre Balmain, he was one of the most influential designers of post-war haute couture.
Aha, thank goodness we could at least remember the name Christian Dior. But we had never actually heard of Fath. Which is probably because we've spent the last 50 years focusing more on cars and less on women's fashion ...
