Forgotten car magazines - Auto Focus
12/07/2013
There wasn't necessarily a shortage of car magazines when photographer Peter Vann launched the first issue of Auto Focus in 1992. And yet he found a gap in the market. He combined modern cars with old vehicles and convinced his readers with a sophisticated aesthetic.
The layout and choice of images were first class, but the magazine was correspondingly expensive. The magazine was published twelve times a month, later it was published every two months. From 1998, the magazine was published in collaboration with the Motor Presse publishing house, with a circulation of over 40,000 copies. Historical topics were also repeatedly included in the high-quality printed magazine.
At some point, he sold the magazine to Motor Presse Stuttgart and despite several adaptations and relaunches, it disappeared from the market in 2008. What a shame!
