New addition to the archive - the second half of the 1948 vintage of the Automobil Revue
Our readers have repeatedly brought this to our attention. The second half of the 1948 issue of Automobil Revue was missing from the Zwischengas archive. This was by no means intentional and of course this gap had to be closed. Now these newspapers, 26 issues after all, are also availableand offer a lot of exciting reading. Only a few cherries can therefore be picked out here:
In No. 30/1948 (page 23), the Porsche 356 with rear engine was presented under the title "The youngest offspring of a great name". In the same issue(30/1948, page 21), the VW Type II (now known as the Beetle) was also explained "in a detailed description". AR 38/1948 (page 10) reported on how the Volkswagen was built as part of a factory tour.
No. 32/1948 (page 11) published the results of the long-distance test with the Dyna-Panhard.
No. 34/1948 (page 9) presented new German racing sports cars, including the Veritas.
AR No. 35/1948 (page 17) reported on the traffic problems in Paris.
AR no. 36/1948 (page 3) announced the Casaccia-Maloja-Kulm hill climb, including the most important entries, and then documented it with a comprehensive race report in no. 37/1948 (pages 3, 5 and 7).
The new car price lists in AR 36/1948 (page 16) or in AR 54/1948 (page 20) are certainly also of interest.
AR No. 38/1948 (page 13) presented the results of the endurance test with the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport.
AR No. 44/1948 (page 15) summarizes the Paris Motor Show and the new launches.
The 1948 Packard series is presented in AR No. 46/1948 (page 11) .
AR No. 47/1948 (page 9) reports in detail on the car show at Earls Court in London, where the new Jaguar XK 120 was on display, among other things. Some of the vehicles(Austin, Humber, Wolseley, Sunbeam, Bentley) were then subjected to a short test in AR No. 48/1948 (page 15).
Finally, AR No. 53/148 (page 9) presents the new Peugeot 203 in detail.
