The Austin Seven Special is the cornerstone of the racing tradition in Great Britain. The whole thing was set in motion in 1939 by the 750 Motor Club, where the Seven is still often said to be the mainstay of the club. Today, there are many different series of the Austin Seven, but it all started with the Seven with 747cc displacement. In the late 1920s, Austin regularly raced the Seven Super Sports, which were equipped with superchargers and were therefore very fast for their time. Four vehicles took part in the Tourist Trophy in Ulster in 1929. The Austin models did well, but the competition (Mercedes-Benz and Alfa-Romeo) was stronger.
