An Austin Seven was the biggest surprise at the RM/Sotheby's Cliveden House auction when it sold for twice what was expected. On June 12, 2024, an auction of a total of 60 cars and a Lambretta, as well as many racing-related automobilia, took place at Cliveden House Hotel, near London. The total value of the vehicles amounted to around £22 million, with 38% of the vehicles going under the hammer without a reserve price. The 60 cars, which were on average 53 years old, were divided between 23 brands. Ferrari was most strongly represented with 15 cars, followed by Aston Martin with nine, Bentley with seven and Porsche with four. All other brands, including vehicle manufacturers that are no longer active, such as Austin, Bristol and Sunbeam, were represented with a maximum of two cars.
