This was the advertising message (from AMAG) in February 1990 and the picture showed a Rallye Golf, with 160 hp thanks to the G-spiral loader and four-wheel drive, making it fast even on poor terrain. But the appearance? It takes some getting used to, at least from today's perspective, doesn't it?
Only 5,000 of the exclusively three-door car were built as a homologation model for rally sport. A sunroof was fitted as standard, but there was a special series of 50 vehicles for Switzerland that were delivered without a sunroof.
When was the last time you saw one? And, did it have a sunroof?
