The most beautiful classics?
10/26/2011
Auto Motor und Sport recently allowed its readers to vote, with 22,916 taking the opportunity to choose the most beautiful cars of 2011. In addition to modern vehicles, which we do not report on here, the most beautiful classic car could also be chosen in one category. The results are available in issue 23/2011 (from October 20, 2011).
In this context, it is hardly surprising that the Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing came out on top as the "design icon par excellence" (with 34.9% of the votes).
The Porsche 911 in second place ....
and the Jaguar E Type, after all the first non-German car, in third place are understandable.
With the BMW 507 in fourth place, another dream classic car achieved a top position.
This is followed by the Citroën DS, which 6.7% consider to be the most beautiful classic car.
Other ultra-rare classic cars follow in next place, such as the Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic and the Aston Martin DB4 Zagato. Then, however, the VW Beetle convertible from the 1970s emerged with 3.0% approval, ahead of the Ferrari 250 GTO and the Cadillac Series 62.
In 9th place is the popular Opel GT (1.5% of the votes) ...
... and the Fiat 500 rounds off the top ten in 10th place.
Of course, each individual would come up with a different list; these ten most beautiful classics are the result of a democratic expression of opinion, in which the most diverse interests and backgrounds come together.
