It is the VW 1500 with its flat rear drive set and surprisingly good road holding for a rear-engined vehicle. Here in the "Variant" version with large usable space in the rear, except for the front luggage compartment. It is a reasonably priced, economical, three-door estate car. You should drive many more station wagons in Europe, America already does. They are somewhat heavier than saloons because the rear is more spacious and the rear door is larger than a boot lid. Using the Variant as an example, this adds around 50 kg. On the other hand, there is now more space for luggage in the rear and even more if the rear bench seat is folded forward. In addition, the front luggage compartment, as in the VW 1500, is of course still available in the Variant.
