Mysterious coupé

The other day we came across a parking sign that made us wonder. This coupé somehow looked familiar to us. After discussing and thinking about it for a while, someone said that it looked quite similar to the Rover P6 BS.
This rather innovative mid-engined coupé was developed by Spen King, David Bache and Gordon Bashford at Rover (and Alvis) in 1967. The two-door sports car used the V8 engine adopted from Buick and managed a top speed of over 220 km/h with 150 hp. The car remained a prototype, but it apparently made a lasting impression on a sign designer.
Here is the entire parking sign, which has certainly been around for many years. Perhaps a reader will recognize another car in the coupé silhouette?
