Other countries, other cars (car connoisseur quiz)

Peugeot from France, Lancia from Italy, Volvo from Sweden - as far as is generally known. But where did Sabra, Meteor or Oltcit, for example, come from? A surprising number of countries in the world once had their own small automotive industry.
Brazil even had a very large one. Not only did almost all American manufacturers have a branch there with an independent model range, and VW offered an almost larger model range there than at home. There were also numerous companies such as Vemag, which produced European cars under license, and creative minds such as Genaro Malzoni, who built their own creations on foreign technology.
Occasionally, however, there were also curious transfers of technology between the large corporations - such as the Ford Pampa, which was based on the Renault 12. The reason for this unusual partnership: when Ford took over the then Renault partner Willys-Overland do Brasil in October 1967, it also included the "Project M" with French front-wheel drive technology, which had already begun.
The finished car was finally launched on the market in 1968 as the Ford Corcel. The second generation appeared for the 1978 model year, on which the grassland truck presented in 1982 was based. By 1997, over 350,000 units had been produced.
So the world of cars has all kinds of regional specialties to offer. For our latest quiz, it is therefore not enough to recognize the makes - you also have to know where they come from. Would you like to give it a try?
