Think big and different!

What if Audi were to install two-stroke engines in its cars again or Citroën were to launch a car with an air-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine? Or if BMW presented a sports car with analog instruments and only minimal comfort?
Well, it's hard to imagine. Similarly, few people in the world would come up with the idea of launching a real car magazine in large format. And really large, i.e. 80 cm wide and 60 cm high, completely against the trend of tabloid magazines or the online-only movement.
But Peter Ruch has done just that. And the second edition of his "Radical Newspaper" is already on the market and some things are different from what we are used to.
Firstly, there are the unconventional graphics, which (especially) feature handwritten notes in the first volume and boldly showcase technical elements of print preparation. It's a bit like a car manufacturer showing uncovered chassis parts or the gearshift mechanism.
Incidentally, the second issue is dedicated to Gordon Murray and his T.50 sports car, among other things. One story is about the Cheetah, another portrays the Bizzarrini Manta. Then there is a picture collage on "expensive trucks" and a driving report on the Autobianchi A112 and something on the Peugeot 205 T16. The final section is dedicated to the Maserati 450 S.
The second and third volumes deal with less exotic vehicles, focusing on new cars from Volvo and Renault. You guessed it, that's how the newspaper is at least partly financed. After all, it's not that cheap to design such a publication and print several thousand copies. Anyone who would like to have this newspaper in their letterbox every week will be disappointed. The current plan is for a cycle of several months, with the next issue expected in February 2025. In any case, we wish Peter Ruch every success with his newspaper. It's great that someone is taking a risk and starting where others have long since given up. We will be watching with interest to see how the adventure develops.
P.S. There is a small preview with a table of contents on the Radical website , where you can also order. And of course you can also read many Peter Ruch articles online.
