Zwischengas turned ten years old again

Yes, it's true, we celebrated our 10th birthday on November 23, 2020. But just as many a car in automotive history has an unclear starting point, this is also somewhat the case with zwischengas.com. We went live with the incomplete beta version on November 23, 2010 and then with the complete production version on December 22, 2010.
The difference wasn't huge, but between November and December 2010 we added a few things, such as the introduction of Premium Membership with the corresponding privileges. However, we were of course already editorially productive for our (then still few) readers from November 23, 2010.
While we announced the start of the beta phase in a blog on November 23, 2010, we then announced the " end of the beta phase" on December 22, 2010.
We wrote at the time: "Last night, the last traces of the beta phase were removed, www.zwischengas.com is live and accessible to all. A moving moment. As well as setting up a payment process, we have also introduced various improvements for our users, one of the most important of which is probably a page that stores pre-built searches for frequently requested vehicle makes and types, making it easier to quickly access the most relevant items. Every brand and every vehicle type listed can be clicked on and leads to the search results page. Just give it a try!".
How long ago that was! Since then, we have redesigned our website several times, made it fit for the use of increasingly important mobile devices and most recently gave it a completely new look on November 20, 2020.
And a lot has been added since December 22, 2010, especially in terms of content! After all, back then we were still relatively lean with 46 published blogs, 126 articles, 979 images and 140,000 magazine pages. Since then, 6922 reports/articles and 3784 blog posts have been added, as well as 277,397 images and around 400,000 magazine pages. At that time, there was neither a media library nor an auction database, and vehicle valuations were also still missing, as our wish list from December 31, 2010showed . Today, we offer around two million indexed items, compared to perhaps 150,000 back then.
At the same time, our readership has also grown enormously, from a few hundred to well over two million annually.
Incidentally, the transition from the beta version to the public Zwischengas presence took place in the middle of the night, we didn't take a photo back then and the champagne corks didn't fly either. We were just far too tired for that. Some things just don't change ...
