A new kind of classic car?
The "progress" will probably be unstoppable, the range of platforms and components for the electrification of classic cars with combustion engines will steadily increase. Whether it is the electric "skateboard" platform from Zerolabs or an electric crate motor that can be installed in place of the petrol engine, new technology is being used to give the old car a second, third or even fourth life, even if the car can hardly be compared to what it once was. At least the designs and contours of earlier cars are preserved in this way.
Whether the result is still a classic car in today's sense is doubtful. But authorities, clubs and interest groups will have to deal with these "hybrid" vehicles, consisting of a mix of old and new technology.
It will be interesting to see what comes out of this and in what form these new-old cars will be put on the road and whether they will be taxed or penalized.
