Perhaps the most famous Lotus driver has died
09/12/2020
Diana Rigg died on September 10, 2020 at the age of 82. She will never be forgotten for her appearances as Emma Peal in the television series "The Avengers" in the 1960s. In it, she played a self-confident and defensive scientist with a penchant for sporty and extravagant clothing. And she drove a Lotus Elan, initially a white S2, later an open-top S3 in light blue metallic.
And then in 1969 she appeared in the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" as Teresa di Vicenzo, married James Bond and died in the final scene, killed by Blofeld. Younger "Game of Thrones" fans may remember her as Olenna Tyrell.
In any case, Diana Rigg had great performances in the Lotus Elan and she will forever be associated with the history of Colin Chapman's successful road-going sports car of the sixties.
