How times are changing
09/25/2020
In our loose series "Pictures (almost) without words" we have a very special treat, namely 60 years of BMW history (give or take).
On the left we see the baroque angel, i.e. the BMW 502 (built from 1952 to 1964, including 501 and 3200 variants), on the right the BMW i8 (built from 2014 to 2020). Not only has the so-called "kidney grille" become flat and wide, this trend can also be seen on the car itself. And where there was once a light-alloy V8 engine under the front hood, there is now only an electric motor, supplemented by a turbo-enhanced three-cylinder engine in front of the rear axle, depending on the situation.
We would like to thank the Hotel Das Rübezahl / Schwangau in the Allgäu for the opportunity to show this picture.
