How many cars does a person need?
We see it every day when we are stuck in traffic. Today's cars are pretty big, but they could be a size smaller, or even a few sizes more compact. Here we show the size comparison between a late Lancia Autobianchi A112 Abarth and a BMW X5 of the second latest generation (F15, 2013 to 2018).
The quantitative differences are considerable. Length 3.23 m versus 4.88 m, width 1.46 m versus 1.93 m, height 1.36 m versus 1.72 m. The biggest differences are in weight: the BMW X5 F15 weighs at least two tons, while the Autobianchi A112 Abarth weighs 700 kg. No wonder the nimble Mini only needs 70 hp to move forward quite quickly. And despite its compact dimensions, the A112 also has room for five people, even if they have to move a little closer together.
But who will have the biggest grin on their face after a 20-km drive, the A112-Abarth driver or the BMW-X5 driver?
In any case, we were impressed by the Italian Mini and have already written a driving report .
