When the CEO is happy about his new car

General Director Henri Théodore Pigozzi 's face was full of joy and pride when he posed for the press photos of the new Simca 1300 in 1963.
He also had every reason to be enthusiastic, as the new car, which was to succeed the successful Simca Aronde, impressed with its modern lines, plenty of space and high level of functionality. The engine was carried over from its predecessor, as was the rest of the technical concept (front engine, rear-wheel drive, etc.). But a lot of brainpower had been invested in the details and the new Simca felt robust and safe right from the start.
In the end, the Simca 1300 and its successors and brothers (1500, 1301, 1501) were built until 1974.
However, Pigozzi was not able to enjoy the Simca 1300 for much longer, as he was disempowered by the Americans, who had taken over Simca, in May 1963. He died unexpectedly in November 1964, almost exactly 30 years after Simca was founded.
The pictures can of course also be found in high resolution in the Zwischengas photo archive.
