Already 30 years ago - cell phone as an important tool for classic car drivers
We had to smile a little when we found this picture. An old-timer driver is bent over the hood of his car, probably calling for help on his cell phone or asking for directions.
Today this is not a special event, but 30 years ago it was certainly the exception. In fact, the telephone used - note the downward-running cable, which presumably led to a bulky receiving and transmitting unit weighing several kilograms - is itself an old-timer today, as it is thirty years old. Back then, the devices cost a four-figure sum and every minute spent on the phone almost had to be worth its weight in gold.
