A small road with little traffic in the south of Tuscany. A right-hand bend taken in third gear is followed by a downhill straight, fourth then fifth gear. What a surprise, in the middle of nowhere, far away from the tourist crowds, where you would least expect it, a well-known friend is actually drinking from the winner's bottle right next to the road.
Of course, we stop immediately and completely unplanned. And the break is actually worth it. A little insider tip for all his fans is found. In the small hamlet of "Pietrafitta" near "Castellina in Chianti", right next to the road, there is a nice little Nuvolari bar.
Completely furnished with great pictures of the Mantovan, the staff in light blue Nuvolari polo shirts or shirts.
Meals are served on Nuvolari table sets, with cutlery wrapped in Nuvolari envelopes. Rooms with names such as "Targa Florio" or "Mille Miglia" are reserved for special occasions.
A stop here is definitely worthwhile. The wine tasting, bruschettas and other culinary delicacies for both small and large appetites are of the finest quality. The whole thing is always in close contact with the greatest of all greats: Signore Tazio Nuvolari.
