24 historical images per second - Or: the historical television test
Reading historical tests is one thing - watching and listening to historical tests is another. For all those for whom our weekly review of old magazine articles in text form is not enough, we recommend the YouTube channel "7Freitage" . Contributions from the ZDF program "Sportspiegel" have been published there for a good week now. The moving image car tests date back to the 1960s and 1970s and are each around a quarter of an hour long, sometimes even in color.
As a German production, the format naturally focuses mainly on products that shaped the domestic streetscape, such as the Audi 100, Mercedes-Benz 250 and Opel Rekord. But Rainer Günzler also tests the capabilities of exotic cars such as the Citroën DS 21 Pallas, Rover 2000 TC and Volvo 144. Even though our archive of historical images leaves hardly anything to be desired, it can hardly satisfy one thing: historical images in motion.
