It was a chance snapshot. While testing the new Renault 6 in 1968, the Automobil Revue test team came across a petrol station that surprisingly offered sausages (Saucisson d'Arles "Le Mas") as well as petrol.
Nowadays, when petrol stations tend to be retail outlets with the option of refueling vehicles, sausages actually seem quite normal. However, no petrol station operator today would probably think of placing the meat products right next to the pump. The food inspectorate would probably also object ...
