Some classic cars also see a racetrack (question of the week)
02/12/2024
With more and more restrictions on public road traffic, more and more classic car and youngtimer owners are flirting with the racetrack in order to be able to drive their classic car properly or even use it for racing. We wanted to find out whether this is really a great need with a " question of the month" , which was: Do you use your classic car on the racetrack?
The answers did surprise us a little. 38.2 percent of the more than 250 respondents stated that they ride on the racetrack. 27.4 percent only do this as part of regularity events or track days, but 10.8 percent even use their car for racing.
20.5 percent could imagine giving it a go on the racetrack, provided they don't have to worry about the safety and health of the classic car.
However, 34.4 percent could not imagine using their car on the racetrack at all, while 6.9 percent could not answer any of the questions.
Overall, classic car and youngtimer drivers are open to using them on the racetrack, with a total of 58.5 percent not rejecting it in principle.
