No major movements in classic car prices in the coming year (question of the week)
12/18/2023
The mood in the classic car market has been better. Those who want to sell a car are waiting longer to find the right buyer. And those who are looking are hoping for lower prices. Some classic cars were quoted lower in 2023 than in the previous year, even younger cars that had recently made strong gains stagnated.
Now, towards the end of the year, people like to look to the future. And so we asked Zwischengas readers the following " question of the month" : Will classic car prices fall across the board in 2024?
And apparently classic car enthusiasts tend to be among those who see the glass half full, i.e. optimists. In fact, 53.3 percent of almost 400 participants answered that they expect prices to stagnate, but not fall.
The other half was divided almost equally between those who expect classic and modern classic car prices to rise (20.4%) and those who expect prices to fall (25.6%).
And only 0.6% were unable to answer any of the questions.
If you were to translate all the answers into a forecast, then you would probably have to assume that classic and modern classic car prices will tend to stagnate and hardly fall at all in 2024. We'll see!
And this is what the result looks like graphically:
And we have already posed the next "question of the month" . We want to know: Who is the classic car's biggest enemy?
Of course, you can still read the results of all previous "Questions of the Week and Month" in the dedicated topic channel.
