How to establish a tradition ...

It's often the case in life: our children's questions give us the best ideas. That's what happened to Ronald Vogel from Charlottenburg when he visited the well-known Spinnerbrücke motorcycle club with his son in April 2021. "Dad, why don't you meet up with your old cars like the many motorcyclists here?"
Asked - done: A few ideas later, Ronald Vogel launched an appeal in his personal classic car network, which over 70 friends of automotive heritage followed on June 27, 2021 to the Olympic Stadium.
The classic car meeting at the Olympic Stadium was born. Since then, completely free of commercial interests, well over 100 classic car enthusiasts have been meeting there regularly from April to October (and even in November if the weather is right) on the last Sunday of the month with their historic vehicles to talk shop about the rustiest hobby in the world and enjoy a relaxed get-together.
The initial idea is undiluted and should remain so. No entrance fee, no supporting program, no commerce whatsoever. The only program: old cars. And everyone who preserves and moves old metal is very welcome. Motorcycles and commercial vehicles are also welcome.
Berlin is not exactly short of events. However, classic car meetings are few and far between, especially those that manage without "cosmopolitan aspirations", without food stalls and without regulations - and at which really rare vehicles can still be admired.
After just over two years, Ronald Vogel has already celebrated an anniversary. At the end of the season on October 29, 2023, he called for the 20th classic car meeting at the Olympic Stadium and, despite the rain showers, over 100 vehicles were brought out of their dry garages.
What started out as a child's question became an idea and has since become a small tradition - and above all a fixed date in the calendar for many classic car enthusiasts from Berlin, Brandenburg and sometimes even further afield.
