The delights of fall
11/02/2022
It's already a bit of a tradition, the "last fall ride". But also to write about it, because I obviously did that in 2014 , and again in 2019. After all, that was three years ago. And like now, the short articles were written at the beginning of November.
When it's a bit warm again and the leaves are turning yellow from the trees, that's when I particularly enjoy driving the TVR . And I always do it with a little melancholy, because the year is slowly coming to an end and there will be few opportunities to drive the open-top car on dry, salt-free roads over the coming months. And it is actually always open, even the folding roof stays at home. The distance this 3000 S has driven in my possession with the roof up is probably barely two or three percent of the total distance driven. After all, it's a roadster, with windshields. With the roof up, you get less out of driving and also less of the wonderful sound of the V6 engine. And in autumn you take in everything particularly intensely, the colors and the smells.
But just now, it was probably another one of those trips that I will remember wistfully during the coming cold spell. October 2022 is known to have gone down in history as the warmest of its kind, more or less in living memory. This makes it all the more incomprehensible that the convertible is a dying breed. How can an SUV or SUV coupé be more fun than an open-top sports car?
