Historic motorsport is popular (Question of the week)
For almost as long as the automobile has existed, the sport has also generated interest and development progress. Drivers and their vehicles have become heroes and idols. We wanted to find out how much interest classic car and youngtimer enthusiasts and friends have in historic motor racing. The special thing about it is that, on the one hand, there is a history of racing, but on the other hand, old racing cars are still used in competitions today. With a " question of the week" , we wanted to identify which aspects of historic racing, if not all, are relevant to Zwischengas readers today. The question was: "Are you interested in historic motorsport and its history?"
The answers were surprising. In fact, around 85 percent are interested in historic motor racing. 63 percent are enthusiastic about both motorsport history and racing with old cars today.
16.4% focus primarily on motorsport history, while 5.2% are primarily interested in today's racing events with old cars.
10.5 percent have no great interest in historic racing, while 3 percent have no interest at all in historic racing and motorsport history.
For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that two percent of the 310 or so respondents were unable to choose any of the options provided.
